December 15, 2016 (Raleigh, NC) – RDU Mobile Food Association, RDUMFA, delivered a check for $2,500 to Meals on Wheels of Wake County, a charitable nonprofit that provides nutritious meals to people 60 years old and over who are homebound and/or disabled, or would otherwise be unable to maintain a balanced meal. Meals on Wheels estimates 550 meals will be provided based on the money raised.
RDUMFA raised the money at their Second Annual Rudolph’s Holiday Rodeo presented by Craft Financial LLC and Choice 92.1 FM on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Knightdale Station Park. The event raised money through sales from mobile food vendors from around the Triangle, craft vendor fees and donations from gift-wrapping, face painting, and photos with Santa.
In addition to food, drinks, and crafts for purchase, guests were entertained with music by Spectrum Vocals and Wendell Middle School Jazz Band, a visit from Santa, and inflatables.
Last year, RDUMFA raised over $2,300 for the Inaugural Rudolph Holiday Rodeo held at the same location. This year, RDUMFA and guests braved cold and wet weather and managed to break last year's total.
